AV Series Steam System Exhaust Valve

Working principle

Air and other non-condensable gases can cause many problems in steam systems. Not only will the warm-up time be prolonged, but the temperature of a steam-air mixture will be lower than that of pure steam at the same pressure. Air will form a gas film that reduces heat transfer efficiency, leading to increased fuel consumption, and these gases are also the main cause of pipeline corrosion. Using a steam system air vent valve can remove air and other non-condensable gases from the steam system without leaking steam.

Install
When installing the air exhaust valve, the liquid capsule (sensing element) should be in a horizontal position and the valve cover should be facing upward. The air exhaust valve should be installed where air is likely to accumulate (steam main or equipment top), and the discharge port should lead to a safe place. For easy maintenance, consider installing isolation valves upstream and downstream of the air exhaust valve. The air exhaust valve should not be insulated.

Features

401-SH/501-SH series inverted bucket superheated steam traps are specially designed to overcome various unfavorable factors such as overheating, high pressure and low load.

In order to make the steam trap work properly under extremely harsh working conditions, the valve adopts a unique inverted bucket type steam trap with a water collection chamber. The water collection chamber collects enough condensate to ensure that the water seal can be maintained during the entire discharge cycle. The small cup in the water collection chamber can float up and down at the side steam pipe mouth. When the condensate rises, it seals the steam inlet pipe. The condensate flows into the valve. Since the water collection chamber collects the condensate and allows steam to flow in from the bottom of the inverted bucket, the discharge valve is tightly closed during the water collection period, and there is no dripping phenomenon.

Working principle

The valve uses a conical valve core instead of a flat valve core, and the sealing surface does not have any impurities left. When closed, the sealing surface has a self-cleaning function.
