Thermodynamic type
According to the Nuber force law and the physical properties of steam and condensate, the dynamic and static pressure acting on the valve plate is changed by discharging condensate to make the steam trap perform the opening and closing valve action.
When the device is started, the condensate in the pipeline pushes the valve plate open by the working pressure and is quickly discharged. When the condensate is discharged, the steam enters the steam trap, and the volume of the steam expands rapidly. The flow rate of steam is greater than that of the condensate, causing a pressure difference between the upper and lower parts of the valve plate, and the valve plate is quickly closed under the suction of the steam flow rate. When the valve plate is closed, the valve plate is subjected to pressure from both sides, and the force area under the valve plate is smaller than the force area above. Because the pressure inside the steam trap transformer chamber comes from the steam pressure, the force on the upper part of the valve plate is greater than that on the lower part, and the valve plate is tightly closed. When the steam in the transformer chamber of the steam trap cools down to condensate, the pressure inside the transformer chamber disappears. The condensate pushes the valve plate open by the working pressure, and the condensate continues to be discharged, working in a cycle, and discontinuous drainage.
Working principle

| 1. At the beginning of startup, the condensate creates working pressure to push the valve plate open and discharge quickly | 2. When steam enters the steam trap, due to the high flow rate, the pressure at the bottom of the valve plate decreases. At the same time, the steam enters the transformer chamber to form a pressure difference between the upper and lower parts of the valve plate. The valve plate closes quickly under the suction of the steam flow rate. Because the pressure inside the transformer chamber of the steam trap comes from the steam pressure, the force on the upper part of the valve plate is greater than that on the lower part, and the valve plate is tightly closed | 3. When the steam in the transformer chamber of the steam trap cools down to condensate, the pressure in the transformer chamber is lower than the inlet pressure, and the valve plate will open to discharge condensate. When the condensate is discharged, the valve will close again according to the same principle. In this case, the valve automatically opens and closes to discharge condensate intermittently. |
