Float Type Steam Trap

25/07/2024

Principle

A mechanical steam trap that uses the gravity difference between steam and condensate to discharge condensate

Advantages

● Sturdy, light weight, reducing installation costs
● Quick discharge, tight closure, no blockage, ensuring optimal equipment operation efficiency
● Sturdy structure, excellent air exhaust performance
● Can be installed horizontally or vertically to reduce installation problems
● Small size, large displacement
● Stainless steel internal structure can resist corrosion

Working principle

1: When starting, the thermostatic air exhaust valve is in the open state, and the air entering the steam trap is quickly discharged by the thermostatic air exhaust valve. The low-temperature condensate that flows in subsequently causes the float to float up, and the linkage lever mechanism opens the valve to discharge the condensate. 2: The temperature of the condensate gradually rises, and the thermostatic air exhaust valve closes. As a result, a large amount of condensate flows into the valve to keep the float in an ascending position. After a large amount of condensate is discharged, the float loses buoyancy and falls, and the linkage lever mechanism closes the steam trap. 3: When the condensate continues to flow in, the water level inside the steam trap rises, the float rises, and the linkage lever mechanism opens the valve to discharge the condensate. The float moves up and down according to the amount of condensate flowing in, achieving proportional continuous drainage.
